Red Cliff Ironstone Fine China — Grape Pattern Coffee Pot with Lid
A fine example of American ironstone, this coffee pot is part of the Grape pattern produced by the Red Cliff Company of Chicago, Illinois. The piece was manufactured by the Hall China Company of East Liverpool, Ohio — one of America's most accomplished and long-established ceramics producers — under commission from Red Cliff's founder, Fred Clifford.
The form is inspired directly by original Victorian-era English ironstone, which Clifford sourced and had faithfully reproduced in both shape and decorative style.
This piece is an early example (Likely 60's) based on the stamp which lacks the later hallmark Red cliff used which has a more modern R over C logo. Incised 3-1 indicates the Hall mold number and the partial blue number relates to the size of the pot.
