Pair of MCM Bentwood Stools

Inspired by the timeless designs of Alvar Aalto, this pair of vintage bentwood bar stools feature the iconic L-leg construction and minimalist Scandinavian form that Aalto pioneered in the 1930s. Crafted of laminated birch with a circular seat and lower footrest ring.

Stamped “Made in Romania” on the underside, this pair is likely a licensed or reproduction version of Aalto’s classic Stool 64, produced outside Finland. It exhibits quality construction and refined curves characteristic of the original Artek designs.

Condition: Both stools show signs of surface wear and tear typical of a used piece of wood furniture of this age. Structurally they are solid and there are no signs these have been repaired. It would take minimal work to refinish and refresh these beautifully crafted stools.
