A magnificent example of early American carnival glass at its most dramatic. This Imperial Glass Company compote features the iconic Acanthus pattern — bold, scrolling leaf motifs that wrap the pedestal base and splay outward through the bowl. The deep ruby red glass is finished with a luminous iridescent treatment, shifting between burnished crimson, smoky violet, and warm amber depending on the light. The extravagantly ruffled rim adds an exuberant, almost theatrical flair that is quintessential of the period.
